Periodic in-office work may be expected, but the majority of your time will be remote. Physical office space is in the Falls Church area, Metro accessible on the Orange Line (East Falls Church Metro).

Position Responsibilities:
The Lead Software Engineer will support the contract by performing the following tasks

  • Assist Project Scrum Masters to produce accurate delivery estimates
  • Manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery
  • Provide progress updates to GSR PMO to ensure the management of any delivery risks or concerns
  • Lead a wide range of projects involving the implementation of new and existing systems, solutions, and processes
  • Design, implement and maintain application phases
  • Contribute in all phases of the development life cycle
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code
  • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
  • Recommend changes to improve established application processes
  • Prepare and produce releases of software components
  • Develop application code programs
  • Develop and execute test plans, support formal testing and resolution of defects
  • Provide technical support and consultation for application and infrastructure questions

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with CI Poly
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated experience with Java, C#, C++, Go, Python, XML, Linux, or JavaScripts on a program/project
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated experience working with and building APIs and web services
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated experience working with SQL databases
  • At least 7 years of demonstrated software development experience on a program/project  using SAFe or similar agile methodologies
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated experience working with Linux Command Lines

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • At least 15 years of demonstrated experience with Java, C#, C++, Go, Python, XML, Linux, or JavaScripts
  • At least 15 years of demonstrated experience working with and building APIs and web services
  • At least 15 years of demonstrated experience working with SQL databases on a program/project
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated software development experience utilizing SAFe or
    similar agile methodologies.
  • At least 15 years of demonstrated experience working with Linux Command Lines
